  • The established community thinks their forefathers easily gave up their traditions and quickly became “Americans”
  • When a group of immigrants are well established in the US, they in most cases feel that the next wave of immigrants are threatening jobs, democracy, stability etc.
  • Current views that the US is traditionally English speaking, open to diversity etc. is wrong – various groups have normally stuck toghether, tought their original language in schools and usually to two generations or more to properly integrate
